Young people at the UN on education

On 12 July 2013, hundreds of students from more than 80 countries gathered in New York for a unique UN Youth Assembly, where diplomats took a back seat as young people took over the UN headquarters. Joined by Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban last year for attending school and who celebrated her 16th birthday on the same day, the young leaders issued a global call for quality education and highlighted the importance of ensuring access to this basic right for every boy and girl.

If you want to to hear their views on the issue of education, follow the link and watch videos of the young participants.
