Dziewczynka z książką

About us

What the Taliban is most afraid of is a #GIRLWITHABOOK. Stand in solidarity with Malala Yousafzai and girls around the world fighting for their education.

“Dziewczynka z książką” is a Polish edition of #GIRLWITHABOOK international campaign. Our goal is to collect pictures from Malala’s and global education’s supporters from the entire world, speak up about everyone’s right to education, publish a photoalbum out of collected pictures along with girls’ stories from all over the world. Income from the album sales will be used to purchase books for schools in Pakistan.

Malala Yousafzai was on her way home from school when Taliban gunmen stopped her school bus, asked for her by name, and then shot her in the head and neck along with two of her classmates.

In 2009 the then 11 year old began blogging for BBC Urdu about her struggle to receive an education in the Taliban controlled Swat Valley of Pakistan.

She was nominated for the International Children’s Peace Prize by Desmond Tutu in October 2011 and was awarded Pakistan’s first National Youth Peace Prize in December 2011.  TIME and Newsweek magazines recognized her as one of the most influential person in the world. She is also the youngest person to be nominated to the Nobel Peace Prize.

We stand with Malala, and all women and girls worldwide fighting for their fundamental right of education.

According to UN reports, there are now 57 million kids out of school, 5 million live in Pakistan. More than 3 million of them are girls.

Send us a picture of yourself with a book and with a sign “I stand with Malala”. A cause like this needs support from EVERYONE. Email your picture to:
